How to Play

DD Dungeons is a game of strategy where you control 3 main characters as well as a variable number of sub characters.

The idea is to get the 3 main characters through the mission from start to end without any of them being killed by the hordes of Goblins, Orcs and other nasty creatures. The sub characters are expendable.

Action Points

Each turn characters start with 2 or more Action Points (ap). You spend ap performing actions such as moving and attacking. Most actions cost 1ap so a character with 2ap can move 2 places in one turn, or move once then attack. 1ap can be saved from 1 turn to the next.

Movement is done vertically or horizontally. Units can not move diagonally.

Combat Combat

Most characters and units use ranged weapons. Simply click on the attack button and the unit will attack the first enemy target in fron of the character. Knights are the exception and can only attack units directly infront of them. Attacks cost 1ap.

When hits a unit loses 1 hit. Each unit has 1 or more hits. When a unit's hits reach 0 or less that unit is dead and removed from play.

Characters

The main characters are barbus the Mage, Magnar the Archer and Palador the Knight. They are a cut above other characters.

Mage Mages

Mages are the weakest of the main characters but they have powerful spells to make up for this. They have 1 hit and no armour, so they need to be protected. In combat they cast a magic missile that is the equivalent of a normal bow in damage.

Blast Spell: Blast will give any enemy unit with 2 squares 1 hit of damage. This will cost all remaining ap.

Haste Spell: Hast will double the ap for all units. The will lose all ap for that turn.

Open/Close: Mages can operate door switches. These switches are magically protected so only a mage can use them. They open all closed doors and close all open doors.

Archer Archers

Archers are elite bowmen. They have 2 hits and light armour. When attacking, they lose no ap when they hit a target, so an Archer can clean an entire corridoor with a little luck.

Fighter Knights

Knights are the toughest and best armoured units. They have no ranged weapons but they have the ability to thrust forwards. On a successful Thrust, the knight loses no ap and moves forward into the enemy square. This can be very useful for clearing corridors.

Archer Bowmen

Bowmen are secondary character units and expendable. They use ranged weapons and 1 hit.
